About 5,000 people gathered to march from City Hall to downtown, to oppose the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project in Vancouver. Fiery speeches were given by many leaders, including Vancouver’s and Burnaby’s mayors. The latter urged the sizeable crowd to join with him in standing in front of the bulldozers if need be. Prime Minister Trudeau’s cabinet must rule on the $6.9-billion oil-sands bitumen pipeline project by Dec.19, 2016.
