Mosasaur chosen as Manitoba’s fossil emblem

This summer, I went to southern Manitoba to shoot this Globe & Mail video about mosasaurs —a prehistoric sea creature chosen as the province’s official fossil emblem.

Extinct for 83 million years from the age of dinosaurs, these giant sea monsters, nicknamed ‘T-Rex of the Sea’, hunted for prey in a salt water seaway that once covered much of the Canadian prairies.  I’m grateful to a fantastic local museum in Morden —the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre —for taking me out to the secret dig site for the shoot.
